Fernando Chamarelli is a visual artist and illustrator, with a degree in graphic design. After testing several techniques, and trying different types of art, he develop his own visual signature.
Currently the work developed by the Brazilian artist is based on Quantum Physics, String Theory and The Multiverse. In his creations the artist uses elements of different cultures. Civilizations from the past, present and future exist simultaneously. As characters full of colour that inhabit the micro and macro cosmos.
Fluid forms and contrasting colors
Despite all the rationality that is present in the forms that emulate precision and the multicolored whirlwind of Chamarelli’s works, what stands out is the invitation to interpret a surreal world – an universal language to those who experience the sacred and the mystical of any religion or belief.
The vivid, bright colors, the flattened dimensionality and the presence of a variety of motives in proximity with the esoteric, including human and animal forms, reminds us of the Nabis movement of the 19th Century. Comprised of French painters such as Paul Ranson, Maurice Dennis, and Édouard Vuillard, the group defended a decorative notion of painting, where the color would enhance the theme and offer a new way of perceiving the world.
Sure, the generous dimensions of the pieces require a certain space, but nothing exaggerated. One needs to observe each piece from up close for, besides being looked at, Chamarelli’s works want to look back at those who see it.
With a ten-year-old career, the artist knows how to take advantage of the visibility, converging the popularity generated by murals and advertising partnerships in exclusivity for collectors.
